In August of 2016, God called a group of friends and fellow ministers together to begin pursuing him, much like William Seymour did in the days of Azusa street. Annie Byrne, Amy Gentry, James and Val Nichols, Nicole Urbanik, and several other friends gathered together, 12 in total. They gathered in Annie’s home, seated on couches and rugs, ready to meet with the Father. Their heart was focused on meeting to worship and follow the leading of Holy Spirit. As a longtime student of revival, Annie knew of the many stories where the spirit of God would break out powerful in simple meetings where the attendees were truly hungry for God. As the community began to form, it became clear that they were all passionate for that same display of God's power and presence. As a group they knew that if they could just set a table for the people, God’s presence would abide, fill and transform them.
In the early days of meeting, the gatherings were kept small and private. Most attendees were a part of Momentum Ministries, friends or the staff of the ministry. The gatherings essentially started as a local service, stemming from Momentum Ministries (a traveling ministry focused on prophecy and equipping). As the meetings grew, it became clear that this community was called to forge it's own spirit-led journey. These worship and ministry meetings were then renamed Revival Co. (based off of a dream Annie had.) The first few meetings consisted of James playing a guitar, or an out of tune piano, and Val leading. They had very few guidelines; 1. We always end with time for prophecy and words of knowledge 2. We always make room for the Holy Spirit 3. No jumping (because the floor might cave in.)
Within the first few months it became apparent that meetings were not going to stay small or private for much longer. Word got out that you could experience healing, miracles, prophecy, and power at these meetings. Soon the numbers grew from 12, to 20, to 45, to 75. Six months after their initial meeting, Revival Co. decided to host three days of meetings. Over the course of those three days, over 250 people came through. That event was a catalyst of many meetings, worship nights, baptisms, deliverance, and healing.
Over the past 6 years Revival Co. has ministered to 1000’s of people. Revival Co. had gone through 2 major moves, and have matured our services with excellence, power and miracles. In all of that time, one thing has remained constant – people are hungry for honest encounters with God that will change them, and they want to have those encounters with people who also love God and are committed to His kingdom.
As we enter into a new chapter of Revival Co.’s journey, there are a few things we know – It’s not just about a service anymore, it's about building His house. It’s not just about powerful worship and encounter, it's about transformative discipleship. It’s not just a place where people can come and get an encouraging word, its about igniting personal revival to spread hope and life!
